8 Upcoming Exclusive FPS Games That Fans Are Going Nuts Over and We're Excited AF

No doubt FPS gaming is the most popular genre in gaming history

The gaming community always craves for such never-ending unfettered mayhem, and such melee has also penetrated minds of casual gamers. It resulted in games targeted to all rather than just hardcore devotees.

One thing you can be sure that there won’t be a shortage of shooting games.

Be it multiplayer titles, co-op titles as there are some pretty good shooters coming up in 2018 and beyond.

1. Metro Exodus

Taking place after the events of Metro: Last Light, players will once again step into the role of Artyom in the upcoming first-person shooter, Metro Exodus.

Over twenty year has passed in the nuclear war that left much of the earth in a post-apocalyptic state, Artyom is on a grand journey to travel with the Spartan Rangers.

As you can expect from past Metro titles, players will be fighting off a slew of enemies and mutated creatures. Outside of battle, Artyom will need to scavenge for various materials to help craft new weaponry and goods to stay alive.

3. System Shock

If you enjoyed System Shock back when it first released in 1994, next year, 2018, players will be given the chance to once again enjoy the System Shock journey through a remake. T

The video game the narrate the journey of a nameless hacker who gets swindled into working with the TriOptimum Corporation, a company the hacker previously attempted to hack and steal files from.

As mentioned, System Shock originally released back in 1994 where it was praised by critics and was a commercial success leading to a sequel to release under the development studios Looking Glass Studios and Irrational Games. I am interested in seeing just how well the remake will do in today’s market.

4. Ready Or Not

Ready or Not may see a release this year, though we don’t have an official release date attached to the project quite yet. This is an upcoming first-person shooter that acts like the Rainbow Six series in that players will be experiencing a tactical police type shooter.

Within the game, players will take on the role of an elite SWAT team member who must protect the innocent and take down the hostile threats. However, don’t think you can go guns blazing as the developers are working on a realism experience.

5. Battalion 1944

Set during World War II is developers Bulkhead Interactive upcoming first-person shooter, Battalion 1944.

The video game is said to be bring back the old school vibe of FPS to the latest generation of consoles. With that said, there’s no campaign available to go through alone. Instead, the developers have created Battalion 1944 to be a multiplayer focused close quarters combat frenzy.

While the video game listed to release in 2018, the developers have released an early access version of the video game this year in February with a full launch happening sometime afterwards.

6. World War Z

World War Z is a 4-player cooperative survival/shooter game inspired by the movie World War Z.

The movie already has a mobile game and they announced a PC/Console based game in 2018.

The game will have several missions and scenarios in multiple cities. The players have to survive the endless zombie waves by using weapons, setting up barriers, traps, etc. No release date announced yet.

7. Overkill’s The Walking Dead

Who doesn’t love the highly popular Walking Dead series?

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player co-op action FPS game.

Players have to survive in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. against the threat of both the dead and the living. Each character has its own set of unique skills, roles, play styles and background story.

8. Escape from Tarkov

Developed by Battlestate Games, Escape from Tarkov is a survival shooter game.
