This just in for all of you 90s, high school, romantic comedy fanatics. Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union are starring in the Bad Boys spinoff TV series LA's Finest, which is coming to a television near you soon, and the details are filled with nostalgia.
With a third Bad Boys movie on the way, the series is growing even more in the form of a TV spinoff.
Instead of focusing on Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's characters, it will center around Gabrielle Union's character from Bad Boys II, as well as a brand new character in the franchise played by Jessica Alba.
While L.A.’s Finest was originally planned by Sony Pictures Television as a series for NBC.
Now, Charter, the second-largest cable company in the world (just behind Comcast), has seized upon an opportunity that will make L.A.’s Finest, its very first original scripted series.

Think of it as a '90s-heart throb reunion, if you will. Or, as the perfect opportunity for two ultra-famous female actors to kick some butt on primetime television, week-by-week. Either way, the '90s love shared on screen between Alba and Union causes for celebration.

L.A.’s Finest could be a bellwether revival for the Bad Boys franchise, with rumors continuing to swirl about Bad Boys 3 becoming a reality. Thus, the movie franchise might also have some mojo left to help generate nostalgic interest for the TV series.
LA's Finest is set to premiere in 2019, exclusively on Charter's Spectrum cable service.
