Are you a fan of the DC Universe? From comics to TV shows to movies, the DC Universe covers a ton of content. Now the DC Universe is launching a new DC Membership program that will include access to original series only on the DC Universe.
Last year,Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment announced that they were launching a new digital streaming platform that would include both animated and live action series. Now, that service has a name — DC Universe — and an official landing page on the DC Comics website- https://www.dccomics.com/dcuniverse
The landing page describes the platform as a “first-of-its kind, immersive digital experience designed just for DC fans,” with access to exclusive original series. Several shows have already been announced for the platform, including the the live-action adaptation of DC’s Titans comics, animated Young Justice: Outsiders, and an animated series focusing on fan favorite Harley Quinn. Yesterday it was also announced that a live-action Swamp Thing series would be coming to the service.
This DC Membership seems to be a service targeting hardcore DC Universe fans. Streaming video will only be a part of the DC Membership program. It will likely include access to comics, artwork, and more.
The DC Universe seems to be trying to capitalize on the growing trend of hardcore fans who want even more content and a behind-the-scenes look. DC Universe does have content deals with several other streaming services, and at this time there are no plans to end these partnerships.
