The upcoming Bollywood Veere Di Wedding is undoubtedly a much-anticipated film of this year, and for numerous reasons.
The movie that boasts of a stunning women-led ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania looks like the perfect answer to Bollywood's 'buddy films' that we've all become so used to watching, And it also features our very own Mikesh Chowdhury AKA Sumeet Vyas.
If you’re a die-hard Kareena/ Sonam Kapoor fan, you might not want to read ahead. Otherwise, do read on.
Have a look at the trailer first:
Even though the film is being touted as #imnotaCHICKflick and If the trailer is anything to go by, then though Veere Di Wedding appears to be another chick flick on the surface but it deals with much more than the bond of friendship that binds these four ladies as soulmates for a lifetime. The trailer then progresses to how their friendship has blossomed over the years, leading up to one of them getting hitched. Sumeet Vyas proposes to Kareena and then prepping for 'Veere Di Wedding' begins.
Director Shashanka Ghosh, whose previous film Khoobsurat (2014), starring Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan in the lead, struck a chord with the audience and critics alike.Veere Di Wedding takes the fun quotient many notches higher. With Kareena's charm, Sonam's style, Swara's screen presence and Shikha's quirk, the film is a complete package
From a fun filled bachelorette trip to elaborate shopping, cribbing and bitching sessions the film has it all and also the movie has been creating a buzz ever since the news of the movie started making the rounds. Just like the movie even the song has been well-received by the fans it was also one of the top trends in social media. The trailer gives us a fair idea of the kind of peppy and upbeat music that forms the core of the film. Be it a few lines from 'Munni', 'Teri puppy le loon' or the title track itself which plays towards the end of the trailer, i am definitely looking forward to the music album of Veere Di Wedding.
A special mention to Sumeet Vyas, who once again seems to have nailed his act by holding his own along side Kareena. Be it his bewildered expression post the proposal scene, or his conversation with his father where he tells him that they'd discussed to have only 200 guests at the wedding, his expressions and mannerisms are bang on-point. They serve the much-needed comic relief at regular intervals too.
*Produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Nikhil Dwivedi, 'Veere Di Wedding' is slated to release on June 1, 2018.
